Privacy
Snag is built to need as little about you as possible. No ads, no trackers, no selling data. Ever.
On this website
The live checker needs a place to search from. A ZIP code or town you type is turned into a rough point on our own server; "use my location" asks your browser, and only the rounded point is sent. We don't keep searches.
We set no cookies and run no analytics. "Your live changes" stays in your browser's session storage and disappears when you close the tab. Our server sees your IP address to answer the request and to rate-limit abuse; it's held in memory for a minute, not stored.
In the iPhone app
The app gets a random device ID, not an account. To ping you, we store your push token, your alerts (phone, colours, sizes, distance) and the point you search from, rounded to about 100 m. Email sign-in is optional.
Delete an alert and it's gone. Delete the app and the device ID can't be used again; email us and we wipe what's left.
Payments and email
App purchases are handled by Apple; web payments by Stripe. We get a receipt (what you bought and when), never your card. If you sign in with email, we use it for sign-in codes, the pings you turn on and nothing else.
Who processes data for us
Hetzner (servers in Germany), Apple (push notifications and App Store purchases), Stripe (web payments) and Resend (email). Each only gets what it needs to do that one job.
Your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask what we hold about you, get a copy, fix it or delete it. In the EU and UK this is your right under the GDPR. Write to hello@snagpickup.com and we answer within 30 days.
